Bingham Gets In The Groove For Sheffield

World-Snooker-Championship-TrophyStuart Bingham’s price for this year’s snooker World Championship has been cut after he claimed a nail- biting deciding frame victory over Judd Trump in the final of the Coral Welsh Open in Cardiff on Sunday.

Bingham, who landed our 50/1 tip at the Crucible in 2015, has been cut from 33/1 to a best price of 28/1 with BetVictor, with other bookmakers bringing him in to just 20/1. He may be an unfashionable player, but the 40-year-old from Basildon in Essex is a very consistent performer and his odds simply don’t do justice to his current world ranking of number two.

It was a week of shocks in Wales, with world no.1 Mark Selby beaten by 17-year-old Yan Bingtao, but the longer matches in Sheffield tend to create fewer major upsets.

Ronnie O’Sullivan remains the bookmakers’ favourite at best odds of 4/1 with Coral, ahead of Selby at 5/1 with Sky Bet and Trump at 8/1 with both Coral and BetVictor.
