Champions-League-TrophyThe champions of Spain meet the champions of Italy on Saturday night and the bookmakers can’t make up their mind which of them will lift the coveted trophy in Cardiff.

Sky Bet go 10/11 each of two – although Juventus can be backed at even-money with both Paddy Power and Coral.

As far as the 90 minute betting is concerned, Real Madrid are best odds of 7/4 with Ladbrokes – with Juve available at 2/1 with Bet365 and the draw 11/5 at Betfair and Coral.

It’s been seven years since a side kept a clean sheet in the Champions League Final and therefore our first suggestion is to back ‘both teams to score’ at best price 21/20 with Betfair (odds-on elsewhere).

There are plenty of subplots, but perhaps the biggest one concerns Juve’s lendenday goalkeeper Gigi Buffon – and his attempt to secure the only medal he’s failed to win.

Big players tend to come to the fore in big final’s and we feel that Buffon is a decent bet to be named the Man Of The Match at stand-out odds of 10/1, also with Betfair.

He’ll probably need to have a good game to keep out Cristiano Ronaldo – scorer of 5 goals in two legs against Bayern Munich in the Quarter-Final’s (3 in regular time) and then a hat-trick against Atletico Madrid in their semi-final first leg.

Ronaldo is 29/20 at Unibet to score in regular time and 40/1 at William Hill to score another hat-trick, but it’s worth remembering that he did not score in 90 minutes in either the 2014 or 2016 final’s, whereas Madrid captain Sergio Ramos did so in both.

Ramos is a juicy 8/1 at Bet365 to score, but let’s not get carried away with goalscorer bets against a side that only conceded a solitary goal in their six knock-out games.

Three of the last five Champions League Final’s have finished 1-1 after 90 minutes – and that’s 11/2 with BetVictor – while six of the last sixteen have gone to penalties.

So, let’s double down on our Man Of The Match bet and back Juve to win the cup on penalties at best odds of 10/1 with BetVictor – with Buffon to be the hero of the day.
