The 2015 Community Shield brings together old enemies Arsenal and Chelsea in what could be a really exciting encounter at Wembley.

The game looks an even contest, but the bookmakers have priced up last year’s Premier League Champions as favourites, with Betfred offering Chelsea at 6/4 and FA Cup holders Arsenal at 2/1, while the draw is a 5/2 chance with BetVictor.

It will be a big day for Arsenal keeper Petr Cech who faces his old club in his first competitive game for the Gunners – at present the only signing the Gunners have made this summer. But this Arsenal side now includes some big names including Mesut Ozil who cost £42 million and Alexis Sanchez who was £35 million.

On top of that, they signed Danny Welbeck for £16 million and they can certainly now beat anyone on their day. They beat Man City 3-0 in this fixture last season, and their last competitive game was a 4-0 drubbing of Aston Villa in the FA Cup Final.

Pre-season they have won all four friendlies scoring 14 goals and conceding just one and confidence is obviously high in the camp.

Chelsea, meanwhile, have failed to win any of their pre-season games, drawing against PSG and Barcelona (in normal time) and losing 4-2 to the New York Bulls.

And to make matters worse, Chelsea suffered injuries to Diega Costa and Gary Cahill in that last game against Barcelona.

With that in mind, the bet simply has to be Arsenal at 2/1, and we also recommend backing them in the ‘Draw No Bet’ market at 11/10 with Paddy Power.

Theo Walcott could play down the middle and he looks overpriced at 7/1 with Bet365 to get the first goal – especially if taken each way (1/3 odds for the ‘place’ – if he scores at any time in the game).

Finally, we like the look of an Arsenal win ‘to nil’ at Coral’s 9/2, while we also suggest a couple of speculative bets on Arsenal 1-0 at (8/1 Bet365) and 2-0 (16/1 BetVictor).
