El Clasico is one of the most eagerly anticipated football matches in the world and this Sunday Barcelona host Real Madrid at the Nou Camp, with just one point separating the sides at the top of La Liga.

Real have beaten Barca on the last two occasions the sides have met, but they have been in relatively poor form of late, winning just one of their last four games.

Meanwhile, Barca have won all of their last six games and are odds-on favourites to win on Sunday at a best price of 8/11 with Betfred and William Hill. Real can be backed at best odds of 19/5 with William Hill and the draw at 7/2 with Bet365.

If Real overcome the odds it will be only the second time they have completed the league double over their great rivals in the last 30 years, but with Barca having won 9 of their last 10 league games we feel it unlikely that Carlo Ancelotti’s side will do so – especially given the growing rumours that all is not rosy in the Real Madrid camp.

Both teams have scored in this fixture in an incredible 17 consecutive games going back to April 2011 and although the price is short, we believe that a bet on both sides to score here simply has to be placed at odds of 4/9 with Ladbrokes or Bet365.

And 6 of the last 13 games between these sides have ended 2-1 (four to Real and two to Barca), so we suggest backing Barcelona to win 2-1 and 3-1 at odds of 15/2 and 11/1 respectively with Betfred – who offer to refund losing Correct Score bets on any televised game that finishes 1-1.

Lionel Messi is back to top form – scoring 17 La Liga goals in 2015 – which is more than Bale, Benzema and Ronaldo have managed in total (five each). The Argentinian genius has already amassed a record 21 El Clasico goals and he looks worth a bet at 7/2 to score the first goal with William Hill – as they refund losing First Goalscorer bets if your player scores the second goal of the match.

Cristiano Ronaldo has 14 El Clasico goals and he is a generous looking 6/1 to score first with Paddy Power – he simply has to be backed each way at that sort of price, especially as he has scored in no less than 6 of the last 10 El Clasico’s and on six of his last seven visits to the Nou Camp.
