England, who have won all four of their Euro 2016 Group E qualifying games, are expected to maintain that 100% record when they face Lithuania at Wembley.

Roy Hodgson’s men are the 1/7 favourites with William Hill, while Lithuania are available at best odds of 25/1 and the draw at 9/1 – both with Bet365.

Following wins against Switzerland, Estonia, San Marino and Slovenia, England are already six points clear of the chasing pack and they have scored 11 goals and conceded just once during this campaign.

Lithuania meanwhile have managed to score just three goals and conceded six in their four group games – although they have 6 points courtesy of wins against San Marino and Estonia, they lost their last group game in Switzerland 4-0.

The first bet to suggest is on England ‘To Win To Nil’ – which they have done in three of their four group games and with BetVictor offering standout odds of 9/20, we suggest a maximum bet.

You can be sure that Lithuania will come and defend at Wembley, hoping for a set piece or breakaway goal, and given this tactic we can see the game being 0-0 for some time. But as the game progresses, with Lithuania having chased the ball around, spaces will surely open up and England’s class prevail – so backing the second half to contain more goals than the first half could be a sensible wager at 6/5 with William Hill (it was 0-0 at half-time in Switzerland when Lithuania lost 4-0).

We also suggest splitting stakes on two Correct Scores here – the 2-0 England win can be backed at 19/4 with BetVictor, while the 3-0 win is 5/1 with the same firm.

As far as First Goalscorer bets are concerned, all eyes – and many bets – will be on Harry Kane. However, he is not certain to start and odds of 10/3 look very short to us even if he does.

We would certainly rather be with the experienced Wayne Rooney at 10/3 with Bet365 – he has now scored 46 times for country in 101 games and you can be assured he will get two or three chances to add to that total.

The England captain has scored six goals in his last six international appearances and we recommend backing him each-way, as Bet365 offer 1/3 odds for the ‘place’ in this market – if your player scores at any time in the game.
