Everton take on Dynamo Kiev in the Europa League at Goodison Park on Thursday and can be backed at best odds of 7/5 (BetVictor) to beat their Ukrainian visitors.

Dynamo are currently seven points clear of Shakhtar Donetsk at the top of the Ukranian league and they and the draw can both be backed at 12/5 (Bet365).

The Toffees, have lost three and drawn two of their last five league game – both of those draws were at home and in fact they have drawn their last 4 league games at Goodison (plus another in the FA Cup).

However, they did beat BSC Young Boys 3-1 in the previous round here last month.

They face a side in hot water with UEFA due to fan pitch invasions, and the governing body has hit the Ukrainian side with a partial stadium ban, plus they travel to Liverpool with three players suspended, including Andriy Yarmolenko (their top Europa League goalscorer with three goals).

All of this means the first recommended bet is to back Everton ‘to qualify’ over the two legs at best odds of 4/5 with Bet365 or SkyBet. Dynamo are 5/4 with Betfred and BetVictor in this market, but that looks skinny given the circumstances and we can see Everton taking a two or even bigger goal lead to Ukraine.

Everton’s manager, Roberto Martinez, has doubts over the fitness of Leighton Baines (hip), Aiden McGeady (knee) and Steven Pienaar (knee) but with Romelu Lukaku fit and ready to play, we can see goals here.

The giant Belgian scored 5 goals in the two legs against Young Boys and we suggest backing him to score first at odds of 9/2 with William Hill – as they refund losing First Goalscorer bets if your player scores the second goal of the game – a nice saver.

We can also see full back Seamus Coleman making his trademark lung bursting runs from defence, and this is the sort of game where it could worth taking a chance on him getting in behind the opponents defence at a big price to score first. You can back him each-way at 22/1 with Bet365, who pay 1/3 odds for the ‘place’ – if your player scores a goal at any time.

Finally, we suggest backing the 2-0 and 3-0 Everton wins at odds of 10/1 and 20/1 respectively with Betfred – who offer to refund losing Correct Score bets on all televised matches that finish 1-1.
