We hope you followed our Champions League Quarter Final tips this week which included Juventus to win 1-0 at 4/1, Porto to beat Bayern Munich at 4/1 and Porto to win 3-1 at a whopping 50/1. We now turn our attention to the FA Cup this weekend.
Arsenal v Reading
|Arsenal/Arsenal||Half Time/Full Time||31/40||BetVictor|
|Arsenal 3-0||Correct Score||15/2||BetVictor|
|Arsenal 4-0||Correct Score||12/1||BetVictor|
|Olivier Giroud||Anytime Goalscorer||Evens||Betfred|
|Danny Welbeck||Anytime Goalscorer||7/4||Betfred|
It’s no surprise to see the Gunners at best odds of 2/7 (Betfred) to beat Reading, especially as Arsene Wenger’s side have won nine of their last 10 league games, scoring an impressive 24 goals in the process.
The Royals, by contrast, are in dreadful form having won just one of their last ten Championship matches (D6,L3), conceding 18 goals, and they can be backed at best odds of 14/1 and the draw at 11/2 (both with Bet365).
With 2/7 too short, we suggest backing Arsenal in the Half Time/Full Time market at best odds of 31/40 with BetVictor, while backing the Gunners to win both 3-0 (15/2 BetVictor) and 4-0 (12/1 BetVictor) also looks a sensible move, as we can’t see Reading scoring against this strong Arsenal rearguard.
Arsenal’s stikers, Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck, will be given plenty of ammunition and we suggest backing both players score at any time during the 90 minutes with Betfred, whose odds for both players in this market are much bigger than any other bookmaker. They offer Evens on Giroud to score (just 8/13 with Paddy Power) and 7/4 on Welbeck to score (just 3/4 with William Hill).
Aston Villa v Liverpool
|Under 2.5||Total Goals||9/10||Bet365|
|Christian Benteke (ew)||First Goalscorer||8/1||Sky Bet, Paddy Power|
|Philippe Coutinho (ew)||First Goalscorer||15/2||Bet365|
Aston Villa have had a poor league season, but while they have been flirting near to the bottom of the Premier League table, they’ve put together a good cup run and they can make things tough for Liverpool in the second FA Cup semi final.
Tim Sherwood looks to have turned things around at Villa and their victory against Spurs at White Hart Lane last weekend should see them kick on and avoid the drop – they are now as big as 12/1 (Paddy Power) to be relegated.
Liverpool are rightly favourites, with no bookmaker offering odds of more than 8/13 (Bet365, Betfred, Ladbrokes, William Hill) on Brendan Rodgers’ side winning, while Villa can be backed at best odds of 11/2 and the draw at 16/5 (both with BetVictor).
But we can see this game being tighter than maybe some would think given their relative league positions and our first suggestion is to back ‘Under 2.5 goals’ at 9/10.
Christian Benteke has hit form and could cause Liverpool’s defence problems, so we’ll take him at best odds of 8/1 to score first with Sky Bet or Paddy Power – both bookmakers offer 1/3 odds for the ‘place’ in this market – if your player scores any of the first 5 goals.
We also suggest backing the in-form Philippe Coutinho to score first (each-way).
