Lewis Hamilton has been cut to a best price of 4/11 with BetVictor to win the Formula 1 Drivers Championship after his victory in the Italian Grand Prix lifted him 3 points clear of Sebastian Vettel – who could only finish third at Monza. Vettel is now 5/2 with Bet365 for the Drivers Championship.
Hamilton, who surpassed Michael Schumacher’s record for the highest number of career pole positions on Saturday, made it back-to-back race wins for the first time this season to step up his bid for a fourth world title and a third in four years. Vettel led the championship by 25 points after the Monaco Grand Prix at the end of May but has seen his lead whittled down by Hamilton and needs a vast improvement in Singapore in a fortnight’s time. However, the German has won a record four times at the Marina Bay circuit, where Hamilton has tasted success only once, and he is the 6/4 favourite with Bet365 to win there once again and so retake the overall lead.
