Sergio Aguero had been the 5/4 favourite to be the Premier League’s Top Goalscorer this season before his outrageous tackle on David Luiz on Saturday, which means he will sit in the stands until City’s New Year’s Eve trip to face Liverpool.
Aguero’s red card came after Diego Costa’s goal lifted him to the top of the scoring charts with 11 – where he was joined later on Saturday by Alexis Sanchez, after scoring a hat-trick at the London Stadium.
Sanchez, who could be backed at 25/1 before his double against Bournemouth last week, is now in to 6/1 at Betfred and BetVictor, with Harry Kane at 8/1 with Bet365 after he scored twice in Tottenham’s 5-0 win over Swansea to take his tally to seven.
Meanwhile, Jermain Defoe continues to score regularly and now has 8 goals from 15 games this season – just two behind Aguero and one better than Kane. He has 27 in 64 Premier League appearances since joining the Black Cats in January 2015 and at 40/1 with BetVictor he is still in with a chance of nicking a place (1/4 odds for 1,2,3).
