If Wednesday’s FA Cup fourth round replay between Leicester and Derby is half as eventful as the first game at Pride Park, we are in for a treat – live on BBC1 at 19.45.
Remarkably the only draw in the entire fourth round, captain Wes Morgan headed home a late goal to salvage a replay for Leicester, albeit one they could do without.
It beggars belief that the Premier League champions may be relegated this season, and yet the Foxes are in real danger of a less welcome betting upset 12 months on.
If Claudio Ranieri fields a strong side, the hosts have the class to brush Derby aside – especially as the Rams have lost three of their last four league games on the road.
Leicester’s home league form (W5, D3, L4) is much better than their away (W0, D3, L9) this season and while they may have lost 3-0 at home to both Man United and Chelsea recently, it wasn’t long ago that they thumped Man City 4-2 here.
At home against the lowest scoring side (30 goals in 29 games) in the top half of the Championship this season, the Foxes look a fair enough bet at even-money.
But we still anticipate a tight game here – Derby lost 1-0 on the road to both Leeds and Newcastle recently, while Leicester have failed to score in their last five games.
Wait until the line-up’s are announced before any Goalscorer bets – as it’s likely that both managers will make a number of changes from their strongest sides.
