Jurgen Klopp’s side were surprisingly beaten by bottom of the table Swansea in the Premier League here on Saturday, and there may be some who view odds of 1/2 to beat Southampton as too short. The Saints are 13/2 and the draw 7/2, with Bet365.

Of course, Southampton beat Liverpool 1-0 in the first leg – and they also drew 0-0 against the Reds back in November, but we should anticipate more goals at Anfield.

And the absence of centre-back Virgil van Dijk looks likely to be crucial against the side averaging the most goals per game at home (2.8) in the league this season.

As well as their undoubted firepower, the Reds have looked very open at the back for most of the season and we suggest backing Over 2.5 Goals at 4/5 with Betfred.

We also want to back a couple of higher Correct Score home wins at big odds – let’s go for the 3-1 and 4-1 Liverpool victories at best prices of 12/1 and 22/1 at Sky Bet.

Roberto Firmino, who scored twice here on Saturday, looks a decent each-way pick to score the first goal at 5/1 with Paddy Power, but we also suggest backing Nathan Redmond at Unibet’s industry best price of 14/1. He not only scored the only goal in the first leg, but also had several other gilt edged chances to hit the back of the net.
