Noren 100/1 For The Open

Claret JugEuropean golf fans are entitled to wonder if they have another major champion in the making after in-form Swede Alex Noren swept to his second victory in four starts at the British Masters.

Noren, who won the European Masters in early September having been runner-up at the Paul Lawrie Match Play in August, will now be hoping to follow in the footsteps of compatriot Henrik Stenson, who won this summer’s Open, his first major, at the age of 40.

Noren, who at the age of 34 has taken his time to rise to the top of the European game, is now fourth on the Race to Dubai and Coral have trimmed his odds for next year’s Open to 66/1 – but he can still be backed at best price 100/1 with Sky Bet and Paddy Power.
