Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe 2015 Tips

History beckons at Longchamp today for the superstar mare, Treve, and she is rightly a very warm favourite to win her third Arc.

Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe   CH4

She has appeared to be better than ever this campaign and it will be something of a shock were she to be beaten here.

However, with no horse being unopposable, and with us having plenty of doubts over Golden Horn’s chances given the tough campaign he has had, there is plenty of each way value elsewhere.

Yesterday, we gave Buckstay a second chance and he did the business for us in the big handicap at Ascot and we hope FREE EAGLE can do the same here.

Dermot Weld is the king of sending horses overseas to plunder big races and his stable star was so unlucky behind Golden Horn in the Champion Stakes at Leopardstown last time. Had he finished second, rather than third, that day he would surely have been awarded the race in the Stewards’ room.

He was entitled to need that run and the drying ground here will suit him. Hopefully, the step up in trip will also eek out some improvement and he shouldn’t be nearly three times The Derby winner’s price.

Last year’s runner up, Flintshire, also has solid each way claims, but at an even bigger price TAPESTRY is worth backing at 33/1 with Sky Bet, who offer 4 places.

It is interesting that this filly has been kept in training by Coolmore and her seasonal re-appearance should have put her spot on for this. She was fancied to run well here last season, but the race came at the end of a long campaign.

Prix de lAbbaye de Longchamp   CH4

The other big betting heat is the Prix de l’Abbaye, a race that has thrown up some shock winners in the past.

Regular followers of our tips will know that TAKE COVER is one of our favourite flat horses in training and we’d love to see him get his head in front again here.

He is well drawn, will love the drying ground and ran well in the race last year. Crucially, he seems to be peaking at the right time, as his last two efforts have been his best of the season.

Muthmir looks his biggest danger, but if there is to be another big surprise it could be provided by WATCHABLE or RANGALI.

The former has tended to be better over 6f, but his last few starts have suggested he might be worth a try back at the minimum and he has the blinkers back on here. He doesn’t have the best of draws, but he is still worth chancing at the prices.

Rangali is a bit of a monkey, but he has plenty of talent and was only just beaten on the nod in this contest last year. Like Take Cover, he has looked to be coming to the boil when it matters most.

Bet365 are offering 4 places for each-way bets on this race.
