The clue is surely in the name! There is no way that Ballydoyle would have been given such a prestigious name by the Coolmore hierarchy unless they thought she had every chance of being something special and Aiden O’Brien’s two year old is all the rage to give Ryan Moore a scarcely believable 10th winner of the meeting in the opener on the final day of Royal Ascot, the Chesham Stakes.
However, there has to be every chance that she won’t be seen at her best until next year at least and so an each-way bet to nothing looks to be another Irish raider, TONKINESE.
Mick Halford’s colt was successful over the trip last time out, and the form of his second on debut couldn’t be working out much better.
John Gosden has a fine record in the race and has two runners today, both of which can be fancied at bigger prices. It is interesting that he pitches CYMRIC, who like Tonkinese represents Godolphin, into such a tough contest without the benefit of racecourse experience and we are going to take the hint and recommend him as the other one to be on.
Paddy Power will refund losing stakes on this race, as a free bet of up to £50, if your horse finishes second or third, while Sky Bet will refund losing bets of up to £25 if the favourite (Ballydoyle) wins.

We think Godolphin could be on the mark again in the second race – the Wolferton Handicap – where they again have two strong contenders. Although First Flight’s credentials are more obvious, the owner’s apparent second string, GROUNDBREAKING, could surprise at a big price.
He has disappointed on his last three starts, but if he could reproduce the form of his win at Newmarket prior to that he could be in the mix. He is a relative of the mighty Dubai Millennium, the late apple of Sheik Mohammed’s eye, and he has a good draw and a good record fresh.
The horse drawn alongside him, MOUNT LOGAN is the other one to concentrate on.
Luca Cumani’s four year old didn’t handle Epsom’s undulations very well last time out, but that effort should have blown away the cobwebs and if has improved at all from three to four then he surely remains well handicapped.
You can never ignore Mark Johnston’s horses in these staying handicaps, so the biggest danger could be Fire Fighting (22/1 BetVictor) who, by contrast to Mount Logan, ran well at Epsom last time out.

|Mount Logan (ew)||3.05 Ascot||14/1||Bet365, BetVictor|
Another Cumani runner, POSTPONED, has a decent chance in a small, but very competitive looking field, that lines up for the Hardwicke Stakes. Sir Michael Stoute, who has had a wretched meeting so far, will look for one of his three runners to provide a change of fortune here, but we think Postponed can give that trio plenty to think about.
|Postponed (win)||3.40 Ascot||3/1||Bet365, Ladbrokes, BetVictor, Paddy Power, Sky Bet|
Diamond Jubilee Stakes
The final Group 1 of the meeting is the Diamond Jubilee Stakes, where crack Australian sprinter, Brazen Beau, heads the market. If he has acclimatised okay following his travels he must have a massive chance, but we’ve seen these big sprint prizes throw up shocks in the past so we think TROPICS offers better value. He’s a course and distance winner and won his comeback race with plenty in hand.
GLASS OFFICE is another big price runner to back. David Simcock is having a fine season and this is definitely a sprinter on the up. He has a bit to find on the book, but he also has some good course form under his belt and has a much better chance than his price suggests.
Mustajeeb will be a danger to all if the return to 6f continues to bring about an improvement, but at massive odds we can’t resist a few quid on LUCKY KRISTALE, who finally seems to be returning to form after a year in the wilderness last season.
Bet365 and William Hill are both offering 4 places for each-way bets on this race (3 places elsewhere), while Coral are offering new customers odds of 7/1 for Brazen Beau just ‘to place’ (1st, 2nd or 3rd) here.

|Glass Office (ew)||4.20 Ascot||25/1||Bet365, William Hill|
