There are a host of extremely valuable 2 year old contests across the country today, chief amongst them being the Tattersalls Millions 2YO Trophy at Newmarket.
Tattersalls Millions 2YO Trophy
It is a massive weekend for his handler, John Godsen, with his stable star Golden Horn set to take on the mighty Treve in tomorrow’s Arc and we think EAST INDIES can give him a boost my landing the spoils here.
It may seem a bit odd to select a horse in a 7f contest that won over 1m 2f last time out, but he obliterated his field that day and the drop in trip clearly doesn’t concern Gosden, who is just about the shrewdest trainer around. He is going to front run again here and will, hopefully, prove hard to peg back.

totepool Two-Year-Old Trophy
Redcar also stages its Two Year Old Trophy and Tim Easterby has a great record in these races and so it may be worth siding with what looks like the pick of his runners, STILL ON TOP.
This horse won on debut and has followed that up with two thirds in decent company since, including in a similar contest to this at York two starts ago.
At much bigger odds, MARKET CHOICE and QUATRIEME AMI are interesting.
The former looked potentially useful on his first two starts before ruining his chances by pulling too hard last time out. He is worth another go, whilst the latter was nicely supported on his debut before meeting trouble in running. He did well to finish fourth and it is interesting that connections pitch him in at the deep end here.

Albert Bartlett Stakes
There is a listed race in the shape of the Rous Stakes to kick off Ascot’s card and course specialist, MEDICEAN MAN, must have a great chance of getting back to winning ways. He saves all of his best efforts for the Berkshire track, as evidenced by his second in the King’s Stand at the Royal meeting. He wouldn’t need to reach that level of form here to win.

Totescoop6 Challenge Cup
The day’s big handicap is the Totescoop6 Challenge Cup where we hope compensation awaits for BUCKSTAY, who we tipped in the Ayr Gold Cup recently.
He flew home at the death for fifth that day over what proved an inadequate 6f, so the return to 7 here should really suit him.
The main danger could be the unexposed TANZEEL who had no chance in the Ayr contest due to a bad draw. If he stays the trip he must have a massive chance as he is unexposed. The quicker the ground the better for him.
Finally, another Ayr runner, PROFESSOR, can’t be ignored either. He too found Ayr’s 6f on the short side, but he finished strongly and his second place on his previous start hinted at a return to form for a five year old who is well treated on his best efforts (which included a second in the Wokingham here last season).
