England are looking to extend their unbeaten run since last summer’s World Cup to 10 games in this Euro 2016 qualifier in Slovenia.

Roy Hodgson’s side won the reverse fixture 3-1 at Wembley in November, with two goals from Danny Welbeck and one from Wayne Rooney, despite going behind to a Jordan Henderson own goal, and they are favourites to win this game in Maribor.

William Hill offer the best odds of 10/11 on England, while Slovenia are available at 19/5 with BetVictor and the draw at 13/5 with Betfred. However, new customers can get enhanced odds of 6/1 on England to win with Coral here.

Although England are unbeaten in Group E, scoring 15 goals and conceding just once, we can see this match being a cagey affair and backing the second half to have more goals than the first half looks a sensible wager at 11/10 with Bet365 or Sky Bet (all four goals at Wembley came in the second half).

We also suggest playing up this strategy by backing the first goal of the game to come duing or after the 28th minute at odds of 20/21 with BetVictor.

If the hosts are to score, then that goal is likely to come from Milivoje Novakovic, who has scored four times during this campaign and who scored a hat-trick against Norway in the 2014 World Cup qualification campaign – we suggest backing him each-way to score first on Sunday at a huge looking 9/1 with Paddy Power.

Wayne RooneyWayne Rooney would break England’s all-time scoring record by scoring a hat-trick on Sunday and you can back that at stand-out odds of 45/1 with William Hill (20/1 elsewhere). England’s captain scored a penalty to equalise in that win at Wembley and he is a tempting each-way price of 9/2 with Paddy Power to score first.

Finally, let’s back the 1-1 draw at 13/2 with BetVictor, a scoreline that is acceptable to both countries at this stage, and given that we expect a low scoring affair, we like their odds of 21/2 on a surprise 1-0 home win.
