After 10/1 and 33/1 winning tips yesterday, we focus on the feature race on the final day of Cheltenham’s Open meeting on Sunday – the Greatwood Hurdle.
Greatwood Handicap Hurdle
Winter Escape has been all the rage in the build-up as Alan King thinks he may develop into a Champion Hurdle horse. If he’s right, he has to win this off of a mark of 142, but his price is plenty short enough.
Of the others towards the head of the market we like MODUS and NORTH HILL HARVEY. The former had a great prep for this at Ascot recently and has run well in bumpers here in the past, whilst North Hill Harvey wasn’t far behind the best 2 mile novices around last season and like this ground. His yard won this last year.
Brain Power is a danger, but if there is to be a shock, then the two most likely to provide it are Song Light and WOLF OF WINDLESHAM. On the basis that he is proven at the track, we narrowly prefer the latter who represents an underrated yard – back him with Sky Bet who are offering 5 places for each-way bets on this.
|Modus (ew)||2.30 Cheltenham||15/2||Bet365|
|North Hill Harvey (ew)||2.30 Cheltenham||13/2||Bet365, Sky Bet|
|Wolf Of Windlesham (ew)||2.30 Cheltenham||33/1||Bet365, Sky Bet|
Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle
Nigel Twiston-Davies can provide us with the winner of the the Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle at 3.05 courtesy of BALLYARTHUR. He’s unexposed and should be suited by the trip. ALTESSE DE GUYE and MAHLERS STAR are the others to back.
|Ballyarthur (win)||3.05 Cheltenham||7/2||Sky Bet, Betfair|
|Altesse De Guye (ew)||3.05 Cheltenham||9/1||Betfair|
|Mahlers Star (ew)||3.05 Cheltenham||25/1||Bet365|
