Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio is a 7,366-yard, par 72 layout designed by the great Jack Nicklaus to replicate the feeling of Augusta National. It is ranked as one of the top 100 courses in the world and is one of the Tour’s toughest tests. Tiger Woods is a five-time champion and last year’s winner was Hideki Matsuyama.

Masters champion Jordan Spieth (8/1 Coral) is the favourite this year and the only man in single figures. The Fedex Cup leader finished in a share of 19th place last year after a closing 75 ruined his chances. At 14/1 with Stan James, Dustin Johnson is the second favourite – in seven visits he has managed one top 10 finish, when he came fourth in 2011. The rest of the field are priced at 20/1 or above.

Bill-HaasBILL HAAS has enjoyed the first half of the season, missing only one cut and putting in some solid performances, not least his top five finish on another of the Tour’s most difficult courses at the Players Championship. Haas, who is 17th in the FedEx Cup standings, took a while to get used to Muirfield Village but he has placed in the top 10 on his last two visits, with an aggregate score of 14-under. He is available at best odds of 33/1 for The Memorial Tournament 2015 with Paddy Power and BetVictor (just 25/1 elsewhere).

107885606SH037_the_MemorialSTEVE STRICKER picks and chooses his tournaments these days but when he does turn up he tends to be competitive. Although his last four events have produced one missed cut and results of 28-38-27, he’s well suited to this layout and can improve on those positions. Stricker shared sixth place here last year and was the winner in 2011. He’s as short as 50/1 with Stan James, but can be backed at a stand-out best price of 80/1 with Coral.

Kevin-NaKEVIN NA is in a fine run of form and will fancy his chances of going close here after a superb Sunday 64 earned him a share of second place 12 months ago. In 16 events this season, he has posted nine top 25 finishes, six top 10s and was runner-up at the CIMB Classic. His last two outings have seen him finish sixth at the Players and 10th at the Crowne Plaza. Betfred offer just 30/1, but Coral are once again offering the best odds of 45/1.
