Bookmaker odds suggest that both Manchester United and Arsenal – who face each other at the Emirates on Sunday – will miss out on a top four finish this season, despite them being second and fourth favourites respectively to win the Premier League at the start of the season back in August.
Bet365 now offer Manchester City at just 1/10, and Liverpool at 1/8 to join Chelsea and Spurs in next season’s Champions League – with United 5/1 and Arsenal 8/1 for a top four spot.
City have the least challenging run-in, with three of their four remaining games at the Etihad, while Liverpool also have two of their three remaining games at home. By contrast, United’s next three games are all away from home – at Arsenal, Tottenham and Southampton. However, they are a best price of just 10/11 at Bet365 to earn a Champions League place by winning the Europa League – and that looks increasingly likely to be their main focus this month.
Arsenal still have five league games remaining, but they are 6 points adrift of fourth placed City – and only a win against United this Sunday will keep them in contention.
