Venue

The TPC River Highlands course is a short par-70, at 6,844 yards and it has favoured the long hitters over the years, with Hunter Mahan, Phil Mickelson and Bubba Watson among the notable former champions. Kevin Streelman is the defending champion, having fended off a challenge from Sergio Garcia to win last year.

Favourites

Watson, who won back in 2010 and Brandt Snedeker, who placed in the top 10 here 12 months ago, are the market leaders at best odds of 14/1. Last year’s runner-up Garcia is available at a best price of 20/1 with Coral, who offer 18/1 on Patrick Reed.

Tips

Paul CaseyPAUL CASEY is playing this event for the first time but the big hitting Englishman, who has enjoyed some good results over the last few months, should find the course to his liking. The former World no. 3 had a run of five top 10s in seven outings between February and May, including one at the Masters, and showed glimpses of that form at the US Open last week. CoralBetVictor and William Hill offer odds of 50/1 (40/1 elsewhere).

Tony FinauIt’s been a superb few weeks for TONY FINAU, who followed up top 10 finishes at the Byron Nelson event and the Memorial Tournament with a share of 14th place at Chambers Bay. Since the Wells Fargo Championship in mid-May, his results read 16-19-10-8-14 and as one of the longest drivers on the Tour he should be confident of making an impact on this week’s event.  Coral offer the best odds of 45/1 (as short as 33/1 elsewhere).

BRENDAN STEELEBRENDAN STEELE is another of the Tour’s longest strikers off the tee who has proved in the past that this layout to his liking. He was having a decent season until a couple of recent missed cuts, but he can get back into the swing this week. He was fifth and 13th on his last two appearances here at River Highlands, opening with a round of 62 at last year’s edition. He’s available at just 25/1 with William Hill and Stan James, but Bet365 are quoting 50s.
