Our snapshot previews of both Champions League games featuring British teams on Tuesday night, starting with Tottenham’s visit to the BayArena in Leverkusen.
Bayer Leverkusen v Spurs
|Under 2.5||Total Goals||21/20||Betfair|
|Son Heung-Min (ew)||First Goalscorer||15/2||Paddy Power|
Spurs are second in Group E (W1, L1) and an away draw would be a good result for Mauricio Pochettino’s side against a side who held Barcelona here 1-1 last season.
We think that Spurs will play cautiously, possibly with Eric Dier in a central defensive role, and as such we fancy a low scoring affair – Under 2.5 Goals is best price 21/20.
Son Heung-Min, scorer of 5 goals already this season, is 15/2 with Paddy Power to score first against his former club, while we also suggest backing the draw at 13/5.
Leicester City v Copenhagen
|Leicester||To Win To Nil||2/1||Paddy Power|
|Leicester 1-0||Correct Score||5/1||Bet365|
|Leicester 2-0||Correct Score||7/1||Bet365|
|Islam Slimani||First Goalscorer||9/2||Bet365|
|Riyad Mahrez||First Goalscorer||6/1||Bet365|
By contrast to their stuttering Premier League defence, the Foxes have started their Champions League campaign with two victories and it’s odds-on that they make it 3.
City have yet to concede a goal in this competition and they are 2/1 to win this game ‘to nil’ – which looks attractive given they have also only conceded one goal in four Premier League games at the King Power Stadium this season (including two 0-0’s).
Backing Leicester to win 1-0 and 2-0 also looks a sound strategy here – especially as Bet365 offer money back on losing Correct Score bets on all matches that end 0-0.
Finally, Islam Slimani and Riyad Mahrez were both rested against Chelsea at the weekend and we suggest backing both to score first at 9/2 and 6/1 respectively.
