New Zealand are a best price of 1/5 to win the second Test against the Lions in Wellington next week having won the series opener 30-15 in Auckland on Saturday.
Paddy Power are offering the Lions at 11/2 after they were dominated in terms of possession and territory in the opening game. Warren Gatland’s side were limited to sporadic counter-attacks and although they trailed only 13-8 at the break, New Zealand pulled clear in the second half to ultimately secure a commanding victory.
It was never going to be easy for the British and Irish Lions to come together for six weeks and build a team understanding strong enough to overcome the world champions on their own turf, yet they did create – and waste – several good chances and they can get closer to the All Blacks if they are a little more clinical in Wellington.
With that in mind we think that the handicap line of +14 is on the pessimistic side – and will be backing the Lions at 10/11 (available generally) to get within that score.
