No team will have taken more encouragement from the weekend’s Premier League action than Huddersfield, who held Manchester City to a goalless draw at the Etihad Stadium after seeing Swansea lose at Bournemouth and Southampton concede a last minute equaliser at Everton. David Wagner’s side have eased three points clear of the relegation zone with two games left to play, with the two teams immediately beneath them in the table set to meet at the Liberty Stadium on Tuesday night.
As a result the Terriers, who face Chelsea on Wednesday before closing their campaign at home to Arsenal on Sunday, are out to a best of 6/1 with BetVictor in the relegation betting.
The Saints have the upper hand in terms of goal difference, but with their last game being a visit from Manchester City, they know anything other than a victory in South Wales will land them in trouble. Mark Hughes’ side are the favourites to win this critical relegation tussle, at 7/5 with Betfred and BetVictor, but after winning just two of their last 23 games it’s difficult to have any great faith in them.
