There was another short-priced winner on the European Tour as 8/1 shot Justin Rose claimed his second win in a week at the Turkish Airlines Open.
Rose, who won in China last weekend at odds of 20/1, birdied the final hole to close with rounds of 64 and 65 and move within sight of Tommy Fleetwood at the top of the Race to Dubai.
Rose had taken some time over the summer to recover from the disappointment of losing out to Sergio Garcia in a play-off at April’s Masters, but his latest win means it has been a hugely positive end to 2017. It follows on, too, from the successes of another Englishman, Tyrrell Hatton, who also claimed back-to-back victories in October.
Several bookies have trimmed the Olympic champion’s odds for next year’s majors, with Betfred still offering 33s for Rose to win the US Open for a second time and Betfred going 33/1 for the US PGA. He’s 25/1 at Coral for both The Open & Masters.
