Manchester United are the marginal favourites to win the FA Cup after booking their place in next month’s final with a 2-1 win over Tottenham in an entertaining semi-final at Wembley. Jose Mourinho’s side are a best price of 5/6 with Betfred to go on and lift the trophy after goals from Alexis Sanchez and Ander Herrera saw them recover from Dele Alli’s early strike and set up a meeting with their manager’s former club, who beat Southampton 2-0 with goals from Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata.
The Premier League meetings between the two finalists this season each ended in narrow home victories, with Morata’s goal earning Chelsea a 1-0 win at Stamford Bridge in November before Romelu Lukaku and Jesse Lingard scored to give United a 2-1 win at Old Trafford in February after Willian had put the visitors in front.
It will be the third time they have met in the FA Cup final, each winning one apiece in the past. United were 4-0 winners in 1994, while Chelsea gained revenge with a 1-0 win in the first final at the revamped Wembley in 2007.
