Justin Rose is back on top of the world golf rankings after beating Li Haotong in a play-off to retain his Turkish Open title on Sunday.
Rose claimed his 19th professional victory, and his second of 2018, after a final round of 68 left him tied on 17-under with Li, with the two men two shots clear of the rest of the field.
It continues a remarkable run of form for Rose, who since winning the Fort Worth Invitational at the end of May has finished outside the top 10 only twice in 11 starts, as well as helping Europe to win the Ryder Cup in September.
He has finished fourth or better on five of his last six starts and has occupied a place in the world’s top five since early March.
The next challenge for the 38-year-old is to add to his one major victory, which he won at the US Open in 2013. He has posted seven top 10 finishes at majors over the last four years, including finishing as runner-up 3 times, without adding another win.
His next opportunity comes at The Masters in April, for which he is now a best price of 20/1* with Betfred.
