After four years of Spanish domination, with three titles for Real Madrid and one for Barcelona, Bet365 believe the Champions League trophy is heading for England in May, offering 11/8 that the competition will be won by a Premier League club for the first time since Chelsea’s win in 2012.
England still has five representatives in the last 16, with the draw for the first knockout stage being kind to Man City, Liverpool and Man United, who are strongly fancied to win their ties against Basel, Porto and Sevilla respectively.
City are the new favourites to win the trophy at 16/5 with Paddy Power, ahead of Paris St Germain, who must do battle with 12-time winners Real Madrid in the New Year, and the 2013 winners Bayern Munich, both at 5/1. Manchester United are rated England’s next best hope at 14/1 across the board, with Liverpool a 16/1 chance with Betfred and BetVictor.
Tottenham, who face Juventus in the last 16, are at 25s with Chelsea out to 33/1 with William Hill after being drawn to face Barcelona for the sixth time in 14 seasons.
