DJ Cut For Masters After Hawaii Blitz

Dustin Johnson made the best possible start to 2018 with an eight-shot victory at the Sentry Tournament of Champions in Hawaii on Sunday.

The world no.1 had stormed to the top of the rankings in the early part of 2017 with a run of three successive victories before a back injury sustained on the eve of The Masters interrupted his season. Although he won again at the Northern Trust event in late August, he wasn’t able to hit the same heights that had seen him dominate in the spring and his best performance in the 3 remaining majors was a disappointing share of 13th at the PGA Championship. However, he has started the new year as he means to go on, blitzing the Kapalua course to leave his rivals in the shade. Betfred have responded by cutting him to just 6/1 for April’s Masters, but the best price on offer remains 8/1 with Coral and Paddy Power.
