Manchester City remain the 1/4* favourites to win the Premier League title following Liverpool’s remarkable Merseyside Derby win on Sunday.
Pep Guardiola’s side looked set to go into the midweek round of fixtures with a four-point lead at the top of the table before Divock Origi capitalised on a howler from Jordan Pickford to snatch victory for Liverpool at Anfield.
With Everton needing to clear their lines from a free-kick to hold out for a 0-0 draw, Pickford palmed Virgil van Dijk’s miscued volley back into play rather than over the crossbar, and Origi applied the finishing touch into an open goal.
Victory keeps Liverpool just two points behind City, with both teams still unbeaten after 14 games. Jurgen Klopp’s side are 4/1* in the title betting with most bookmakers, with Chelsea out at 45/1* with Betfred following their 2-0 derby win over Fulham.
Sunday’s other local derby was a thriller in North London, where Arsenal came from behind to beat Tottenham 4-2 in a pulsating encounter. As a result Arsenal have been trimmed to a best price of 5/4* with BetVictor to finish in the top four.
