Dubai World Cup 2019 Tips

It is Dubai World Cup night at Meydan where there is a huge amount of price money on offer across a nine race card. We have fancies in five of those races starting with the Gold Cup at 12.50pm.

It’s worth noting that William Hill are offering 4 places for each-way bets on all of these races (just 3 places elsewhere).

Dubai Gold Cup

PRINCE OF ARRAN has run well for us at big prices before and looks excellent each way value here as he just seems to improve with age. He had an ideal pipe opener for this three weeks ago and deserves to win a big prize. He was third to Cross Counter in the Melbourne Cup and has a swing in the weights here to help him overturn that form.

At a monster price, also have an interest in MARINARESCO, who could improve for the big step up in trip. Mike de Kock’s runners at this meeting should always be respected.

Al Quoz Sprint

After the stamina test of the Gold Cup, attention switches to the Sprint, which can go the way of CARIBOU CLUB for the US. If this horse can stay in touch with the leaders early, his devastating finishing kick and see him take the spoils.

Dubai Turf

Next up for us is the Dubai Turf at 3.20pm, where Godolphin have two strong contenders in Dream Castle and WOOTTON.

We think Charlie Appleby will be ready to get the best out of Wootton now and he can reverse recent form with his stablemate. He will, though, need some luck in running from his wide draw.

Dubai Sheema Classic

The Sheema Classic at 4.00pm looks a good opportunity for MAGIC WAND and the Coolmore team to register a win on the night. This filly should really improve for the step back to a mile and a half and there is no better trainer of middle distance runners in the world than Aiden O’Brien. Her best performance last season was at this trip when winning the Ribblesdale at Royal Ascot.

Dubai World Cup

There have been a few shocks in the big one, the Dubai World Cup, down the years and plenty of horses have made the frame at big prices.

With that in mind, take a chance on AUDIBLE, for the excellent Todd Pletcher. As a four year old, this horse could be reaching his prime and the return to a fast surface could see him register a personal best today.
