England are 10/11* with Bet365 to win the second Test against India at Lord’s after their victory in the opening game of the series at Edgbaston over the weekend. England won a thrilling match by 31 runs in Birmingham, but must play the second match without leading all-rounder Ben Stokes, whose trial on a charge of affray begins in Bristol on Monday.
England have called up the uncapped Surrey batsman Ollie Pope to replace the out-of-form Dawid Malan, while Chris Woakes returns after injury to replace Stokes. Joe Root and Sam Curran produced crucial knocks among the tumbling wickets at Edgbaston, while the brilliance of Virat Kohli kept India in contention.
Kohli contributed 200 of his side’s 436 runs over two innings, including a magnificent 149 from 225 balls in the first innings. England are now 2/7* with Ladbrokes to win the series, with further games to come at Trent Bridge, the Rose Bowl and The Oval.
