A first-half penalty from Eden Hazard was enough to give Chelsea a 1-0 victory over Manchester United in Saturday’s FA Cup final, but after the match all the talk was about whether or not it would be Antonio Conte’s last as manager of the winning team. The Italian still has a year to run on his contract at Stamford Bridge, but he has appeared unhappy at times during his two-year spell at the club and he looks vulnerable after failing to secure Champions League football for next season.
Former Barcelona coach Luis Enrique is the favourite to take over should Conte leave the club this summer, at best odds of just 2/1 with Paddy Power. Enrique, who has been out of the game since leaving Barca last summer, had been linked with the vacant manager’s job at Arsenal, but Mikel Arteta looks set to return to the Gunners to fill the void left by Arsene Wenger’s departure. Other possibilities for Chelsea include the Napoli coach Maurizio Sarri and their former manager Carlo Ancelotti, who was sacked by Bayern Munich earlier in the season. Ancelotti led Chelsea to a Premier League and FA Cup double in 2010 before being dismissed a year later. Mauricio Pochettino, who has hinted that he could leave Tottenham if he is not given the backing he believes necessary in the transfer market, is an 8/1 shot with BetVictor.
