Eubank 4/5 To See Off DeGale

Chris Eubank Jr is a 4/5* favourite with Betfred to win the vacant IBO super-middleweight title when he steps into the ring for a grudge match with James DeGale this weekend.

Saturday’s fight at the O2 Arena, which is available live on ITV Box Office, could be one of the last of DeGale’s career, especially if as the bookies expect, Eubank is victorious.

The 33-year-old, who vacated his IBF title last summer, has hinted he will soon retire from the ring and end a professional career which has so far brought 25 wins and two defeats. Eubank may be four years younger than his opponent, but he has racked up more fights, winning 27 times and losing twice in 29 bouts.

Having won the IBO belt in 2017 when he defeated Renold Quinlan, Eubank surrendered his title to George Groves 12 months ago.

DeGale can be backed at 5/4* with Paddy Power, while Ladbrokes are offering best odds of 2/1* that Eubank wins by KO, TKO or disqualification.

Although they haven’t previously met in the ring, the two fighters have taken part in some ill-tempered sparring and have clashed repeatedly on social media. The war or words is sure to heat up in the days leading up to the fight.
