Finn & Ball Add To England’s Ashes Concerns

Ashes urnWilliam Hill have pushed England out to best price 7/2 to win the upcoming Ashes series after Steven Finn became the latest pace bowler to be ruled out of their squad, having damaged his left knee in the nets last week. Finn joins Ben Stokes and fellow injury victims Mark Wood and Toby Roland-Jones on the sidelines, while Jake Ball turned his right ankle during the warm-up match in Adelaide and has to be considered a doubt for the first Test in Brisbane, which starts on November 23rd.

England also have some concern over the form of opener Alastair Cook, who has failed to make a big score on the tour so far, although Joe Root, Mark Stoneman, Dawid Malan and Jonny Bairstow all made useful runs in the comfortable win over a Cricket Australia XI in Adelaide. England have one more warm-up match to come before the first Test at the Gabba – for which Australia are 8/11 favourites at Bet365.
