Lewis Hamilton is the 4/6* favourite with William Hill to win the Formula One World Drivers Championship after winning the sport’s 1,000th Grand Prix in China on Sunday.
The British driver led a one-two from Mercedes team-mate Valtteri Bottas to move to the top of the standings, six points clear of the Finn. Bottas had set the fastest time in qualifying, but Hamilton wasted little time taking control of the race, overtaking before the first corner.
Red Bull’s Max Verstappen is third in the Championship after finishing fourth in Shanghai, sandwiched between the Ferraris of Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc.
Vettel is already 31 points behind arch-rival Hamilton, but he remains the second favourite in the title betting at best odds of 11/2 with Coral.
Leclerc, who was instructed by his team to allow his more experienced colleague to pass during the early stages, has been pushed out to 8/1* by the same firm.
