Lewis Hamilton is the 6/5* favourite with Bet365 to win the Formula 1 World Drivers Championship for a sixth time ahead of the start of the new season in a fortnight’s time.
However, the 34-year-old Mercedes driver, who has won the title in four of the last five years, is concerned that their main rivals Ferrari have proved to be quickest in testing.
The German and Italian teams have been closely matched in terms of fastest lap times, but Ferrari have been consistently quicker, giving them confidence that Sebastian Vettel can capture his first title since 2013.
Vettel, whose four world titles came in successive seasons, is a best price of 2/1* with Paddy Power, with his new team-mate Charles Leclerc at 11/2* with the same bookmakers. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen is fourth in the betting at 9/1* with most firms. The season begins with the Australian Grand Prix, which Vettel has won in each of the last two years.
