After a busy summer in the transfer market and the appointment of Manuel Pellegrini to succeed David Moyes as manager, West Ham are being strongly backed to do well in the forthcoming Premier League season, with punters snapping them up for a top half finish.
When Bet365 opened their books in May, the Hammers were available at 9/4 to finish in the top 10, but they are now a best price of just 5/4* with Betfred and BetVictor following the signings of Felipe Anderson, Andriy Yarmolenko and Issa Diop for a combined total of £75m.
Jack Wilshere has also arrived at the London Stadium after his contract at Arsenal expired, while the speedy full-back Ryan Fredericks could be one of their most important new additions after an impressive season in the Championship helping Fulham to secure promotion. Pellegrini’s first season at Manchester City ended in a Premier League and League Cup double, so Hammers fans will be confident that the Chilean can turn around their fortunes.
