We have highlighted Tyrrell Hatton’s growing stature in the world of golf a few times over the last year or so and the young Englishman excelled once again in the first World Golf Championship event of the year in Mexico, finishing 10th, amongst the world’s best players.
But Hatton was outside the world’s top 100 as recently as last May, when a share of fifth place at the Irish Open moved him up to 91st.
Since then he has gone from strength to strength, winning the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship and finishing second at the Scottish Open and the World Tour Championship in Dubai, and he was up to 17th in the rankings after last week’s Honda Classic.
He was also fifth at the Open and looks primed for another tilt at the Claret Jug this summer – he’s 40/1 in places and will probably go off around 50s.
