Huddersfield are looking increasingly likely to make an instant return to the Championship after losing 2-0 at Manchester United on Saturday to extend their winless run in the Premier League to eight matches. The Terriers have slumped to 19th place after losing each of their last five games, by an aggregate score of 14-1.
Since their surprise 4-1 win at Watford in December they have scored only three goals and picked up just three points, while they have now gone six matches without scoring a goal. Next Saturday’s opponents Bournemouth have taken 15 points from an unbeaten run of seven league matches and can push Huddersfield deeper into trouble with a victory at the John Smith’s Stadium.
David Wagner’s side are the 8/13 joint favourites to be relegated with BetVictor, with bottom club West Brom at the same price with Bet365. Swansea have fought their way from the foot of the table to move out of the bottom three, but injuries to Wilfried Bony and, more worryingly, Leroy Fer will hit them hard. Carlos Carvalhal has done an excellent job since his surprise appointment at the Liberty Stadium, but the bookmakers still see them as the third favourites for the drop, at 6/5 with most firms. Stoke, who face a crucial home game against Brighton next weekend, are at 6/4 with their benefactors Bet365.
