In-Form McIlroy Fancied For Augusta

Rory McIlroyRory McIlroy has four major wins to his name – the 2011 US Open, the 2012 and 2014 PGA Championship and the Open in 2014 – but he has yet to get his hands on a Green Jacket.

However, the Northern Irishman’s odds are shortening for next month’s Masters, as he continues to prove that he is over his recent injury problems by playing some fine golf at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, where he finished in tied-4th.

Just a few weeks ago McIlroy could be backed at 11/1 with Bet365 for the first major of the year, but he is now no bigger than 8/1 with Sky Bet to win at Augusta – where he has finished in the top 10 in each of the last three years.

Jordan Spieth, the 2015 Masters champion, still leads the betting at 7/1 at Coral, just ahead of current world number 1 Dustin Johnson at 15/2 with Sky Bet and Betfair.

We’ve mentioned previously that we like Lee Westwood’s chances of getting a place given he has finished 11th or better in 7 of the last 9 years and he’s 100/1 at Bet365.
