Ireland are the 4/11 favourites with Betfred to win the RBS Six Nations title after Scotland followed their 37-27 victory over Wales on Saturday by beating England 25-13 in a pulsating Calcutta Cup clash at Murrayfield. England had been the odds-on favourites to win the tournament for a third successive year but they came unstuck as Scotland dominated the first half in Edinburgh to claim their first victory in a decade against their fierce rivals.
Defeat leaves England five points behind Ireland at the top of the table, with the Irish hosting Scotland in a fortnight’s time before their eagerly-anticipated trip to Twickenham on March 17th. England, who go to Paris next, are out to 10/3 with Coral, with the Scots the only other team in the running for the title after winning each of their last two matches. Gregor Townsend’s side now have even greater reason to regret their poor performance in Wales on the opening weekend, but they could still claim their first ever Six Nations title if they can cause an upset in Dublin.
They are 14/1 across the board in the title betting. A buoyant Ireland, meanwhile, can be backed at 2/1 with BetVictor to go on and complete a Grand Slam.
