Amir Khan has confirmed he will return to the boxing ring in April when he will challenge the undefeated WBO world welterweight champion Terence Crawford.
Negotiations are ongoing to agree a venue for the fight, which is expected to take place in either New York or Las Vegas on April 20th.
Khan had received an offer to face domestic rival Kell Brook, but will instead travel to the United States to take on Crawford, even though that fight will be less rewarding financially.
Crawford is a three-weight world champion, having also won belts at lightweight and super-lightweight, and he is the strong favourite.
Paddy Power are among the first bookies to price up the fight and they are offering best odds of 11/2* on a Khan victory.
Khan has fought twice since returning from a 23-month career break and most recently defeated Samuel Vargas on points in September. That took his professional record to 33 wins and four losses.
