Manchester City are now the 9/2 favourites with most bookmakers to win the Uefa Champions League after receiving a relatively kind draw for the group stages.
Pep Guardiola’s men will face Shakhtar Donetsk, Lyon and newcomers Hoffenheim in Group F and will be expected to qualify with something to spare.
Of the other top seeds, Bayern Munich were handed what appears to be the softest draws, but the route to the knockout stages does not look so straightforward for some of the other elite clubs.
Paris St Germain have the most to fear having been drawn alongside Liverpool and Napoli, while Juventus have been paired with Manchester United and Barcelona must take on both Tottenham and Inter.
There’s also an intriguing line-up in Group A, where Europa League winners Atletio Madrid were drawn together with Borussia Dortmund, with both clubs having lost Champions League finals in recent years.
