Patton Kizzire beat James Hahn in a six-hole play-off at the Sony Open in Hawaii and claim his second victory of the 2017/18 PGA Tour season. Kizzire, who won his first senior title at the OHL Classic in November, has moved to a career-high ranking of 54th after continuing his flying start to the season, which has also seen him post a share of fourth place at the Shriners Hospitals event as well as a top 10 at the Sanderson Farms Championship.
Despite his current purple patch, the 31-year-old remains off the radar of all but regular golf viewers and most bookmakers have yet to quote a price for him for the first of this year’s majors. William Hill and BetVictor are offering odds of 125/1 for Kizzire to win April’s Masters tournament in what would be his first appearance at Augusta and just his fourth in major championships. It was a disappointing end to the weekend for our 20/1 selection Brian Harman, who led the tournament after two rounds but eventually had to settle for a place after sharing fourth with Webb Simpson and Brian Stuard.
