Chelsea’s Premier League title odds continue to shorten after they ended the 21st round of matches with a healthy 7-point lead over Tottenham, with only William Hill holding firm at a best price of 4/6, and with Ladbrokes going as short as 8/15.
Chelsea’s 3-0 win at the champions Leicester, their 14th in 15 league matches, was all the more impressive for the fact that it was achieved without leading scorer Diego Costa who was left out because of a back strain – or a row about potential interest from China, whichever story you choose to believe. Either way, his absence seemed to have no negative impact.
Tottenham were superb too as they steamrollered West Brom with a hat-trick from Harry Kane and they are now third favourites at 8/1 with BetVictor, behind Liverpool who are at 13/2 with Paddy Power after their draw with Man United at Old Trafford.
For all their excellent recent form, United have been unable to significantly cut the gap between themselves and the leaders and they have been pushed out to 22/1 by Sky Bet following Sunday’s draw – while Coral offer them at 6/4 for a Top 4 Finish.
Pre-season 13/5 favourites City are out to 16/1 with Sky Bet after their latest setback at Everton, where their soft centre was ruthlessly exposed. And don’t be surprised if Tottenham do the same to them at the Etihad next Saturday evening – a match for which the visitors can be backed at 13/5 with BetVictor, at least for the time being.
