Rafael Nadal has been pushed out to best price 11/8* at Coral to win next month’s French Open after losing to Dominic Thiem in the semi-finals of the Barcelona Open.
The Spaniard had been hoping to extend his own record run of victories in Barcelona, where he has lifted the trophy 11 times.
It was another setback for the 32-year-old, who lost to Fabio Fognini in Monte Carlo last week before dropping a set on the Barcelona clay for the first time in four years in his win over Leonardo Mayer on Wednesday.
Thiem, who was beaten in straight sets in a one-sided French Open final by Nadal last year, went on to win Sunday’s final in Barcelona, easing to a 6-4 6-0 win over Russia’s Daniil Medvedev.
