OGS Backed To Continue In United Hot-Seat

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is favourite to be the manager of Manchester United on the first day of the 2019/20 season after earning a 6th successive win since replacing Jose Mourinho.

A goal from Marcus Rashford, coupled with uncharacteristically wayward finishing from Harry Kane and Dele Alli, earned United a 1-0 win over Tottenham at Wembley and moved them to within seven points of the top four in the Premier League.

The match had been billed as a showdown between the two leading candidates for the Old Trafford job and it was the previous market leader Mauricio Pochettino who came off second best.

Ladbrokes and Coral go 2/1* that Solskjaer will still be in the role in August, with Paddy Power quoting the current Spurs boss at 5/2* in a fluid market.

United have now won six consecutive matches for the first time since September 2017, boosting their chances of qualifying for next season’s Champions League and Solskjaer’s prospects of landing the job for the long term.

Solskjaer’s side are now a best price of 5/2* to finish the season in the top four.
