The highlight of a night of live boxing on Sky Sports this Saturday will be the clash between Lawrence Okolie and fellow Londoner Isaac Chamberlain for the vacant WBA Continental Cruiserweight title.
Okolie, from Hackney, has won six of his seven pro bouts by knockout and the 25-year-old is 4/7 favourite with Ladbrokes to add to his unbeaten record at the 02 Arena, less than 12 months after he first stepped into the ring as a professional.
Chamberlain, who is three inches shorter and two years younger than his opponent, has nevertheless been on the scene a little longer, winning four of his nine fights by knockout over a three-year period. As ever, the fight is being billed as a grudge match, with the two men trading insults on social media and Chamberlain taking out a mock ‘Work Wanted’ advert on his opponent’s behalf in Okolie’s local newspaper.
Also on the bill, young Essex weltwerweight Ted Cheeseman takes on experienced American Carson Jones and is a 4/9 favourite at Betfred to add to his 12 career wins.
