Tiger Woods is being backed to win his 15th major title at April’s Masters after showing some good form at the Honda Classic in Florida over the weekend.
Woods, who won his fourth and most recent Green Jacket back in 2005, has looked understandably rusty at times since his return to action following a lengthy injury absence, but he played well at Palm Beach Gardens on his way to a 12th place finish. When betting opened for the year’s first major last autumn, Woods could be backed at 66/1 with Bet365, who were still pricing him at 40/1 a little over a week ago. However, his odds have tumbled over the weekend and he is now a best price of 22/1 with Betfred.
When fit and firing, Woods is invariably in contention at Augusta, where he finished in the top six 12 times in 17 visits between 1997 and 2013, when he tied for fourth.
That said, it’s over four years since he last won a tournament and winning The Masters would be a remarkable achievement even by his standards.
