Saturday Horse Racing Tips

Following the suspension of all racing in the UK, ITV have acted quickly to secure rights to show five races from Naas this afternoon and, whilst those contests are a far cry from the fare we were hoping to be served up from Newbury today, there is at least some decent action for punters to get stuck into.

Cavan Developments Maiden Hurdle

First up is maiden hurdle, where a huge field includes plenty of dead wood. The two to concentrate on are ALL FOR JOY and FAUGUERNON.

The former has shown good form in a number of bumpers and his front running style could see him being hard to peg back here, whilst the latter was a listed winner on the flat in France, a level of form that none of his rivals who come from that sphere can match here.

The dangers could be the newcomers Royal Thief and You Can Call Me Al, simply because we have no idea how good they might be.

BBA Ireland Limited Opera Hat Mares Chase

Next up is a listed contest for mares, which should go the way of the Willie Mullins trained PRAVALAGUNA. This horse was by far the best of these over hurdles and boasts the strongest recent form over fences. She is only a novice and so remains open to plenty of improvement over the larger obstacles.

Synopsis looks the one she has to beat.

EMS Copiers Rated Novice Hurdle

It is back to the novice hurdlers at 2.40pm and we could see a repeat of a few high profile races in recent weeks where up-coming trainer Joseph O’Brien has saddled the first two home.

His pair BAND OF OUTLAWS and Konitho could dominate proceedings here and we expect the classy flat recruit, Band Of Outlaws, to come out on top. He can put his flat speed to good use on this decent ground.

O’Driscoll O’Neil Handicap Chase

There are plenty of out of form chasers heading to post for the 2m 4f contest at 3.10pm and it would be no surprise to see a surprise. With that in mind we are going to take a chance on RUNYON RATTLER, who is dangerously well handicapped based on his best form over hurdles. He also loves this ground and has shown glimpses of his old form since being switched to fences.

Given the inconsistency most of his rivals have been showing lately, the other one to back is the dependable PECULIAR GENIUS who looked ready for this step back up in trip when last seen out over fences.

Adare Manor Opportunity Handicap Hurdle

There’s an almost impossible to solve handicap hurdle to close proceedings on ITV with over twenty runners heading to post.

The two we like are THEREISNODOUBT, who could still be ahead of the handicapper, and SHE’S MADE IT, who looked in need of dropping back in trip after being outstayed in the closing stages last time out.

Cappuccino Man is another to consider.
